Can’t believe that our Toronto project will be finished in a few months! We’re so pleased with the way it is turning out so far and cannot wait to post our photos in late spring/early summer (fingers crossed!). While on our last sourcing visit to Toronto and NY we found some really beautiful pieces for the house. Here are just a few items we found – can’t wait to see them in situ!

1. Raflaet Nesting tables – ABC Carpet
2. Modo Chandelier from Hollace Cluny
3. STICK III – Floor Lamp by Stéphane Ducatteau, 2007
4. GALET – Table Set by Stéphane Ducatteau.

Last week we met the lovely and talented Kate Llamas, co founder of the Duppoini luxury scarf brand. Kate and her creative designer Polina Gineva launched their company in April 2010 having gained experience in luxury retailing working for Harrods and also designing for Alexander McQueen. Kate and Polina create the most beautiful designs which are hand drawn and hand made from the top quality silks. They are made in limited quantity, are absolutely stunning and also come at a very affordable price.
We hope to collaborate with Kate and Polina in the future and perhaps make a new range of silk cushions in addition to our previous vintage Hermes collection.

Our project in Toronto is taking shape and moving along fabulously. The skeleton of the house is finished and there is now a roof! yay!
When we were last there in the freezing cold in March we were just in cusp of finalizing lighting, ironmongery, bathroom and kitchen designs…. After much discussions we have finally come to a decision on the kitchen design and we are very happy with the final outcome. We came across Hinkley Lighting in America and think that these lights will do just great for the exterior front door lighting. What do you think?
Our staircase is really taking shape and we have pictures to prove it. Inspired by the talented Christian Liagre, our staircase is looking superb and can’t wait for it to be installed.

The reclaimed beams are being installed in the family lounge and open plan kitchen, we are looking forward to see what they will look like when it’s all complete. We will keep you posted with the progress and looking forward to posting more pics.

If you’re in Notting Hill today, we highly recommend popping in to see Georgia Russell’s most recent work at the England & Co gallery on Westbourne Grove. With her scalpel, Georgia creates enchanting sculptures out of books, maps, music sheets and newspapers. Her work is like nothing you’ve ever seen before! It’s certainly inspiring to us how second hand, abandoned books can be revived and filled with new life and form.
Here are some of her works…. please see this link to see full collection. http://www.englandgallery.com/artist_group.php?mainId=32
